Abstract

This invention concerns a filter tip for filter cigarettes of such construction that during reflex smoking all, or substantially all, the smoke passes through the filter, whereas during deep smoking the filter is by-passed and substantially all the smoke is inhaled in unfiltered form. The filter tip according to the present invention allows the stimulation experienced from deep smoking to be retained, whereas harmful smoke components which would otherwise also be inhaled during reflex smoking are substantially eliminated. <IMAGE>
