Abstract

A front-loaded cassette tape deck includes movement multiplication means which moves the cassette A a greater distance than the distance shed travelled by a loading table 3. A cassette A is placed in a slider 2 on the table 3 and is held therein by a leaf spring. As the table 3 is moved towards the closed position from the fully projected position, the slider 2 is moved by cords 14 and pulleys 10 at a faster rate than the table, the slider thus being moved relative to the table, the greater travel of the slider causing it to be moved within a holder 8 by the sliding engagement of a plurality of guide members 8a, the holder being at an upper position, but when table 3 reaches the closed position, the slider 2 is fully disposed within the holder 8, the holder 8 with the slider 2 then automatically rotating to a lower position, which puts the cassette into operational engagement with a cassette driving section B. <IMAGE>
