Abstract
The housing, e.g. for the compressor of a gas turbine engine, comprises radially spaced outer and inner annular casings 21, 22, the inner casing 22 supporting stator vanes 28 and having one or more flanges 30 to 36 projecting towards the outer casing 21. The, or each, flange 30 to 36 has an axially extending portion 38 defining one or more location spigots. The outer casing 21 is provided with a recess in which each spigot 38 engages, such that the outer casing 21 may be passed over the inner casing 22 from one end to secure the inner casing 22 and constrain it against movement in radial directions. Slugging masses may be provided on the outer casing 21 in the region where the spigots 38 engage. <IMAGE>
