Abstract

A scanned raster display converted e.g. from a radar p.p.i. display, involves a system which comprises a plurality P of storage banks a, b...p, arranged to be read sequentially to provide the first P data bits for each row 0, 1, 2...of a raster display having a total of X data bits in each row, the sequence being repeated X DIVIDED P times in each of a total Y rows thereby to produce one frame of the display, wherein it is arranged that a different storage bank is read to start the sequence in adjacent rows. The storage banks however may conveniently be read in the same sequence from row to row. 16 storage banks provide 512 locations in each of 512 rows of the display, so that each bank provides 32 storage locations in each row. <IMAGE>
