Abstract
201,870. Naamlooze Vennootschap Werf Gusto voorheen Firma A. F. Smulders. Feb. 15, 1923, [Convention date]. Barges.-In a selfdischarging barge, one or more channels d are arranged along the bottom of the vessel and extend along the whole length of the load space. Slides or flaps b cut the channels off from the hoppers a. The ends of the channels, which communicate with the outside water, are closed when required by flaps. This construction permits of the load being washed away by the stream of water coursing through the channel a when the flaps are open.
