Abstract

An arrangement is described for operating at least one reversible fluid operable device. The arrangement has two fluid operable transfer devices 1, 3, each with first and second compartments 5, 7, so that pressure applied to one compartment applies pressure to fluid in the other compartment. The first compartments 5, are connected to opposite sides of at least one reversible fluid operable device e.g. 37, to give a first fluid path. The second compartments 7, are connected through valve means 9 to a source of fluid pressure and a drain to provide a second fluid path separate from the first fluid path. The first fluid path may be exposed to a hostile environment, while the second fluid path is in a non-hostile environment. <IMAGE>
