Abstract

In a method of producing threads or fibres having increased water retention from an acrylonitrile homopolymerisate or an acrylonitrile mixed polymerisate by dry-spinning or wet-spinning of a spinning solution, compounds of the following groups of substances are added to the spinning solution: polyamides, polyvinyl alcohol, polyamines, polyurethanes, polycarbamates, polystyrene, polyvinyl carbonate, polymethylene oxides, polyethylene oxides, polypropylene oxides, polyvinyl acetates or low-molecular copolymers of such oligomers, respectively, as well as cellulose esters and ethers and/or starch derivatives, having a molecular weight of at least 2,000 to at most 10,000.
