Abstract
A method for determining leaks from water mains laid in the ground in which the pressure in the pipe is recorded over a predetermined period of time, characterised in that the pipe to be examined is isolated from the supply or bye-passed, the isolated pipe being connected to pipes for measuring the input and output flow to give a leak warning if the water consumption in the pipe does not drop to zero during the predetermined period. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.
