Abstract

1. A method of determining the leak rate of a fluid-containing receptacle, in particular a supply line, said fluid-containing receptacle being sealed off and subjected to pressure, which method comprises connecting said receptacle to a tank of fluid, subjecting alternately the fluid in the tank and, accordingly, also in the receptacle, to constant higher and lower pressure, measuring the rates of flow of fluid between tank and receptacle, and using as reference value for the leak rate the difference in the rates of flow at two intervals of time each immediately preceding successive changes of pressure.
