Abstract

A drainage pipe is assembled from pipe pieces 10 perforated in their upper regions and circumferentially corrugated, and separate support members 11, 12 with projecting support portions 20 to support the pipe on the ground. The bottom of each pipe piece is smooth and projects radially beyond the corrugated portion to form a deep, narrow trough 14. The support members have internal profiles matching the external profiles of the corrugated pipe pieces 10 so that when the support members and pipe pieces are fitted together, relative rotation is not possible. The perforations are in the troughs of the corrugations in an upper region of the pipe bounded by projections 17 which block the troughs of the corrugations. (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
