Abstract

A system for indicating the miles to go on remaining fuel, for use in a motor vehicle, the indication being generated in response to signals representing the fuel consumption and the fuel remaining in the vehicle, the system including: a transducer (18) for sensing vehicle speed and a conditioning circuit (22) to provide an output analog signal indicative of vehicle speed, the output of which is fed to an analog divider circuit (26); and, in the case of a fuel injected engine, a circuit (14) for sensing and conditioning the fuel injection pulses to provide an input to the analog divider circuit (26), the speed signal being thus divided by the fuel consumption per unit time signal to provide an output signal indicative of the distance per unit of fuel consumed by the engine at the senses operating condition, this signal being multiplied by a fuel remaining signal to provide a miles to go indication. <IMAGE>
