Abstract
A fibrous sheet having incorporated between fibres therein micro-capsules a hydrophobic material, the micro-capsules being formed from membranes of melamine-formaldehyde resin and having been prepared by heating an aqueous acidic emulsion containing the hydrophobic material, a melamine-formaldehyde precondensation product and a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer as emulsifier to form the micro-capsules of the melamine-formaldehyde resin encapsulating the said hydrophobic material. Examples of such fibrous sheets are scented paper and pressure-sensitive carbonless paper.
