Abstract

Apparatus and method for treating materials such as timber by immersion in liquid comprising a closed vessel to contain the liquid in the lower part thereof, a rack to support the material being treated rotatable about a horizontal axis lying within the vessel, and a port for introducing material to be treated in to the upper part of the vessel. A preferred feature of the invention involves introducing one or more subsequent batches of material to be treated to the rack in the vessel while the first batch of material is still in the process of being treated in the vessel. <IMAGE>
