Abstract

A radial tyre has a breaker assembly comprising steel cord plies 18, 22 sandwiching one or more plies 20 of a thermally non-expanding substance such as nylon, the ply 18 having one edge folded inwardly to lie opposite a similarly folded edge of the ply 22, and the ply or plies 20 being located axially between the inner extremities of the folded edges. <IMAGE>
