Abstract

An insulating case 28 contains a piezoelectric element 26 secured between steel blocks 25, 29, and an axially movable percussion hammer 23 which is spring urged towards the piezoelectric element. A one-piece strip-metal actuating member 27 is axially slidable with respect to the case and has an inwardly bent, retractable element 33 which engages the hammer to move it away from the piezoelectric element. As the actuating member nears the end of its forward stroke the retractable element slides up a ramp 30 to disengage from and release the percussion hammer. The output lead 32 is wedged between the steel counterweight 29 and the case. A return spring 31 is provided for the actuating member. <IMAGE>
