Abstract

This is formed by polymerizing one or more monomers in the presence of magnetically attractable solids, under conditions such that the material as formed contains free reactive groups capable of coupling directly with a reagent gent substance (such as a protein) to bind the substance to the material. Such materials are especially useful for making magnetically attractable particulate reagents for use in immunoassays.
