Abstract
201,383. Avery, Ltd., W. & T., and Timson, W. July 12, 1922. Indicating and registering mechanism; pendulum-weight apparatus. - The surfaces in weighing - machines upon which flexible ribbons or bands bear, are each provided with a raised rib so shaped and arranged that there is substantially only lineal contact between the ribbon or band and the rib along the longitudinal centre line of the ribbon or band. As shown in the Figure, a drum 10 is suspended from a pivoted sector 3 by two flexible bands 7, 8 which pass round the drum in opposite directions and are secured by a clamp 12. The surfaces of the drum and sector are provided with ribs 10<a>, 3a upon which the bands bear, allowing of self-adjustment of the bands for small torsional or other displacements of the drum. The invention is particularly applicable to weighing- apparatus of the kind described in Specification 200,139.
