Abstract

The passage of material along pipes 5 of a pneumatic spreader, Figure 2, is monitored by a microphone 10 mounted on a deflector 7 upon which the material impinges; a signal from the microphone is amplified and causes a lamp 13 to light on a display 12 when the spreader is functioning normally. In a seed drill, Figure 3, the flow of seed is similarly monitored by a capacitor 32 having a sensitive surface provided at a deviation 29 in feed tubes 26. <IMAGE>
