Abstract

The heating device comprises a housing 1, a burner 16 operationally connected to a heat exchanger 18 to heat a medium flowing through the heat exchanger, a base 34 and a movement means such as a horizontal hinge 36 that permits the heat exchanger to be moved between an operational position inside the housing and a maintenance position at least partially outside the housing. The base is fixed to the heat exchanger and, in the operational position, the base connects to the housing in a gas-tight manner to define a gas-tight space (42, figure 1) in which the heat exchanger and burner are located. In the maintenance position, cleaning of an inner side of the heat exchanger is possible. A support 48,52 may be provided on an inner side of the housing to receive the base in the operational position, the base resting on-top of the support. Ideally, the support makes a gas-tight seal with the housing and the base.
