Abstract

A pair of gardening shears include a main cutter 10, a secondary cutter 20 pivotally connected with the main cutter, an energy-saving arm 30 pivotally connected with the secondary cutter, and a gear 31 pivotally connected with the energy-saving arm. The main cutter has a first blade 12, a first handle 13, a first connecting hole 11 and a first pivot hole 14. The secondary cutter has a second blade portion 22, a second connecting hole 21 and a sliding slot 23. The sliding slot has a toothed portion 231. The energy-saving arm has a second pivot hole 32 and a second handle 33. The gear is received in the sliding slot and meshes with the toothed portion. Thus, the gear is driven by the energy-saving arm to press the toothed portion by a leverage principle so as to achieve an energy-saving effect.
