Abstract

A beverage dispense system has a beverage dispense point/head 15 at a first location, for example a bar, and a cooler 1 at a second location, for example a cellar, remote from the beverage dispense point 15. Product is delivered to the dispense head 15 in a supply line 6 from a product source remote from the beverage dispense head 15. The product supply line 6 is contained within an insulated sheath 7 and is in heat exchange relationship with lines 11, 12 for flow of coolant from the cooler 1 to the first location and back to the cooler 1. Coolant is pumped from the cooler 1 along the lines 11, 12 by a pump 13 controlled by a controller 23 such that, in a first mode of operation, coolant pumped along the lines 11, 12 passes through the dispense head 15 to create condensation or ice on an outer surface of the dispense head 15 and, in a second mode of operation, coolant pumped along the lines 11, 12 by-passes the dispense head 15. In another aspect, a refrigeration system is included which as an evaporator. A third aspect relates to a pump for pumping coolant at first and second speeds.
