Abstract

A read-out device (56) is movable over a tabulation of rows and columns (12-36) and (38-54) inclusive. Intersections of the rows and columns indicating certain occurrences are marked in a readily distinguishable manner and windows (58) in the device align with the spaces along each row (or column). Marking (60) in the windows or adjacent the windows indicate a desired pattern of marks to be looked for in the rows (or columns) under analysis. Visual comparison of the markings (60) with the marks seen in the windows (58) allow a ready recognition of the desired pattern if it exists in the tabulation. <IMAGE>
