Abstract

A silver diffusion transfer film unit comprising a transparent support carrying on one surface, in order, a layer comprising silver precipitating nuclei, a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a layer comprising a processing composition permeable polymer layer, a water-insoluble inorganic silver salt and a substantially water-insoluble noble metal compound containing a noble metal below silver in the Electromotive Force Series of Elements. In a preferred embodiment the film unit includes an additive colour screen. Enhanced storage stability with respect to the photosensitivity of the silver halide emulsion layer results from the use of the water- insoluble inorganic silver salt.
