Abstract
An apparatus for measuring the power of a heat radiation comprises a disc 5 bordered by a heat sensitive element such as an electrically conductive filament (6). Part of the filament 6 is positioned in a heat radiation flux or jet (4) and the disc is rotated at a stabilized speed. Connected to the sensitive element is a meter (7, Fig, 1, not shown) for registering the variations of the conductivity, that is the temperature. A system may comprise at least three apparatuses (36, Figs. 13 & 14 not shown) spaced around the flux or jet. In an alternative configuration to that shown in Fig. 2 a heat sensitive wire filament is threaded back and forth in a zig-zag fashion between two spaced discs (Figs. 7 & 8 not shown). A bimetallic strip may replace the disc and filament. Any resulting deflection is measured by a pickup 26, Fig. 9 or by means of mirrors 31 positioned on the end of the strip so as to reflect light from a source 33 onto a scale 35. <IMAGE>
