Abstract

A projectile comprises compartments 4 and 5 and, therebetween, inclined nozzles 23 and/or inclined passages in a vane ring 3 through which propellant gases pass to spin the projectile. The outer wall of one or more of the compartments is defined by a casing of the projectile or by the wall of a cartridge casing or by a gun barrel. Various obturating and guiding devices may be provided on the projectile. <IMAGE>
