Abstract

A flexible metal hose comprises a metal strip (1) which has two oppositely-opening longitudinal channel portions and which is coiled helically into a series of overlapping convolutions (2) such that the channel portions engage each other across adjacent convolutions (2). A second metal strip (4) is secured externally along the length of the helically coiled first metal strip (1) which is either in the longitudinally compressed or extended state. The second metal strip (1) is secured to some only of the convolutions (2) of the first metal strip (1) by spot welds (5). <IMAGE>
