Abstract

A personal watercraft 10 has a stabilising element 30 projecting from the hull 15 of the personal watercraft, and extending continuously along at least most of both the sides and along the bow of the personal watercraft. The stabilising element comprises a substantially solid spacing member (50, Fig 5) extending along at least most of both the sides and along the bow of the personal watercraft, and an inflatable member (40, Fig 5) secured to the spacing member and also extending along at least most of both the sides and around the bow of the personal watercraft. The spacing member may have a curved surface (58, Fig 5) affixed to and abutting the inflatable member along a sufficient proportion, ideally 20-50%, of the inflatable member to preclude vertical movement of the inflatable member. The spacing member may also have a concave undersurface (57, Fig 5).
