Abstract

The present invention provides a container suitable for packaging foodstuffs such as salads, prepared fruit, dips snacks or the like. A container 1 comprises a lower portion having a first base portion 3 defining a cavity 4 and having an opening 5, an upper portion 6 comprising a second base portion 7 and a lid portion 8, the second base portion being configured to close the opening of the lower portion. The upper compartment 7 is nested within the lower compartment 3 and forms the lid of the lower compartment. The lid 8 may be hinged to the second base portion 7.
