Abstract

The system is for use with a commerce platform (300) embedded in a social network and comprises: an identification module (101) to determine a social network identification code of a user interacting with said embedded commerce platform; and a token module (102) to look up the code in a store (103) of known codes. If the code is known the token module extracts a token corresponding to the code and passes it to the embedded commerce platform to authenticate the user, If the code is not known, the token module receives a token from the commerce platform, associates the token with the code and stores the code and associated token for future authentication of users wanting to make purchases from commerce platforms embedded in a social network, reducing the burden on users of recalling authentication data.
