Abstract

A blast resistant structure 1 has an opening selectively closed by a door 2. The door includes two movable locking hooks 28 which each selectively engage a rectangular channel 66 at the edges of the opening. The hooks and the channels are formed of sheet material. There are ideally two pairs of hooks on either side of the door with the pairs moving in opposing linear directions to engage their respective channels. The hooks may be formed of two layered sheets with a perpendicular reinforcing sheet. One sheet of the layer may extend further than the other and the reinforcing sheet and the perpendicular sheet may include a step to fill the void. The other sheet of the layer can be common to both hooks of the pair.
