Abstract

201,043. Merrix, W., and Clarke, H. July 31, 1922. Control mechanism.- The fuel valve and the air or mixture valve of a carburettor are actuated respectively through Bowden cables or their equivalents bv screw and lever adjusted parts combined in .a single fitting mounted within reach of the driver. A base portion 2 of semicylindrical section is formed in one with the portion 4 of a clip 4, 5, and forms a guide for a slide 3 actuated by a lever 9 and connected through a cable 8 with the air or mixture valve. The lever 9 is pivoted on a part 11 with stops 12, 13 and is held in any of its positions by a spring washer compressed between it and a plate 17 formed with two lugs 18, 19 in which is mounted a screw 20. This screw actuates a nut 21 which is connected through a cable 23 with the fuel valve and is rotated bv a disc 24 frictionallv held by a spring washer 26. With this arrangement a fine adjustment of the fuel valve is possible.
