Abstract

A wall tie for a cavity wall, the wall tie (1) being formed from a strip of galvanised steel which has been turned intermediate its ends by 180 DEG to provide a twist (2) which prevents the transit of moisture from one to the other end of the strip, the strip having on one side of the twist one or more apertures (4), any one of which is adapted to receive and retain a pin (5) used to hold a sheet (7) of insulation against the inner leaf of a cavity wall between the leaves (6) of which the wall tie is secured, the selected aperture (4) being determined by the thickness of the sheet (7) of insulation to be held against the inner leaf of the cavity wall. <IMAGE>
