Abstract

For temporarily holding flexible packaging material 11 a rigid base member 12 has secured thereto one surface of a first element 13 comprising a base portion of nylon thread and having on its other surface a plurality of projections formed by hooks of nylon thread interwoven into the base portion. To the hooked surface is secured a second element of resilient rubber-like gelatinous material pre-treated for resistance to fungal attack. In use, the packaging material will temporarily adhere to the gelatinous material whilst being readily peelable therefrom. The jaw may be one of a pair of gripping jaws 12 which may be part of a packaging machine. <IMAGE>
