Abstract

The invention relates to an electric machine comprising a rotating rotor on which during operation such forces are exerted that in a bearing supporting this rotor and being of the kind that allows a certain axial displacement of the supported portion of the rotor with respect to the support of the bearing, a reactive power is set up of which the direction of rotation essentially rotates with the rotor. This bearing comprises an inner and an outer ring, the outer ring of the bearing being essentially fixed to its support, the portion of the rotor supported by the bearing being slightly movable with respect to the inner ring.
