Abstract

The invention provides a multi- purpose trailer in particular for the transportation of bales of hay, straw and other crops. The multi-purpose trailer includes a chassis member formed by a forked framework having side members (3) which embrace the bales. Pivotally mounted side grab frames (8) on the side members (3) pivot inwardly to grab and lift the bales. The framework is adapted to receive a front and side panels (21) to retain the bales during transportation. The forked framework is also adapted to receive other types of trailer body members when the side grab frames (8) pivot inwardly to lie beneath the framework. <IMAGE>
