Abstract
A device for sensing the liquid level in a container, comprises a float 26 in a chamber 12 communicating with the liquid container, and a switch 34 arranged to be actuated magnetically by the float through a non-magnetic partition, the float comprising a hollow body 30 of non- magnetized ferromagnetic material and the switch comprising a rigid assembly 38, 44 pivoted at 40 and carrying a permanent magnet 36 in close proximity to the partition and a lug 52 which is moved into and out of an oscillator 56 preventing or allowing it to oscillate. The assembly is held in a first position by a spring 46 and is arranged to be changed-over into the second position by the magnetic interaction with the hollow body when approached thereby. <IMAGE>
