Abstract

A wheel embellisher 1 for ventilated disc wheels having air intake openings 7 in the wheel body. The embellisher comprises a disc 10 the outer rim 16 of which lies adjacent to the outer rim flange of the wheel and defines an air outlet gap therewith. The axially inner side of the disc carries fan blades 2, the radially outer edges of which extend substantially to the outer periphery of the embellisher disc. The fan blades in use draw air over the brake and expel that air via the outlet gap 2. The embellisher may be substantially laminar or it may comprise a plurality of concentrically adjoining portions which are axially offset with respect to one another. The fan blades may be straight or curved longitudinally and they may be flat or helical and they may be aligned radially or they may each be at an angle to a radius. The embellisher, with the exception of securing springs 5, may be produced integrally from a synthetic plastics material. <IMAGE>
