Abstract
A method of coating glass bodies whose internal pressure differs at least intermittently from the atmospheric pressure by at least 0.5 bar and whose temperature lies at least intermittently in excess of 50 DEG C, resides in applying the coating in the form of a material comprising thermosetting organic substances which are solid at room temperature, such as a powder lacquer. Furthermore, the use of coating materials of this type is proposed for coating glass bodies which are subjected to the above mentioned conditions. The coating is particularly suitable for the protection of flashbulbs against explosion when they flash, although it is also suitable as a protective or decorative coating for incandescent lamps, photo lamps, electron tubes, television tubes and fluorescent strip lamps.
