Abstract

Comprises laser radiation detectors 2, 3, 4, 5 sensing receipt of laser radiation from a respective sector, and connected via threshold detectors 26 to 29 and inverters 30 to 33 to J inputs of JK flip-flops 34 to 37 with indicators 14 to 17, (lamps) connected to the Q outputs thereof. NAND-gate 38 has four inputs connected to the outputs of the threshold detectors 26 to 29 and an output connected via inverter 39 to a first input of an RS flip-flop 40 and to clock inputs of the flip-flops. The outputs of the RS flip-flop 40 are connected back to a fifth input of the gate 38 and via a monostable circuit 41 and a pulse former 42, to clear inputs of the flip- flops and to the other input of the RS flip-flop 40. The threshold detectors render the device insensitive to radiation below a particular threshold. Items 34 to 42 act as a radiation time of arrival discriminator such that on receipt of direct radiation by one or more of the detectors the associated 14 to 17 will be lit and the device will be rendered insensitive to delayed reflected radiation for a short predetermined period (mono 41) thereafter. <IMAGE>
