Abstract
An installation of the production of fungi, in particular mushrooms, in which a substrate is humidified and composted in drums 4 and 5, spawn introduced and loaded into cups (25). After an initial period, on a conveyor 11 in a controlled-environment chamber I, in which the spawn grows through the substrate, the substrate in the cups is covered with a layer of earth from a container 13. Growth of the fungi takes place as the cups are carried through one or more of a series of climatically controlled chambers II, III, IV on conveyor belts 14, 16, 18 until the fungi are ready for harvesting. <IMAGE>
