Abstract

Alkylbenzenes, for example xylenes, are isomerised in the liquid or vapour phase using a catalyst comprising FU-1 zeolite and antimony oxide. Optionally, the feedstock contains up to 25% ethylbenzene, part at least of which is converted to para-xylene. The process may be carried out in the presence or absence of hydrogen.
