Abstract

A pilfer-proof toilet roll holder having a generally U-shaped mounting base (13) with co-axial passages (17 and 18) in arms (14 and 15) and a spindle (12) slidable and rotatable within the passages (17 and 18) to carry a toilet roll (16). The spindle (12) is locked to arm (14) by protrusions (38 and 39) engaging behind flange (19) which are released by depression of sprung cantilever arms (36 and 37) which carry the protrusions, and which, however, are only accessible after toilet roll (16) has been depleted and its tubular core (31) torn from spindle (12). The spindle 12 is prevented from being completely removed by its protrusions 38, 39 engaging a bush 25 in the other arm 15. <IMAGE>
