Abstract

A conveyor having new means of driving its belt. The belt (10) is an endless hinge belt having hinging bosses (14) projecting from its inner surface. These hinging bosses (14) mate with grooves (25) on the periphery of the supports (20, 21) for the belt. The supports (20, 21) preferably have a regular hexagonal cross-section and have a recess (25) along each vertex. The means driving the belt does not, therefore, interfere with the carrying surface of the belt. <IMAGE>
