Abstract

Gas measuring apparatus, in particular portable apparatus powered by a built-in current source, of the kind having gas-detecting elements, operating and indicating elements and alarm means and comprising an energy supply unit having a chargeable battery as its current source, a measuring unit and a chassis, which items are releasably and exchangeably connected together. Energy is supplied from the battery 2 via switching means 4 in the energy supply unit to the measuring unit 3, and in the energy supply unit, the voltage feed to a plug-in connection 5, 5', 6, 6' thereon is interrupted by switching means 4 when the measuring and energy supply units are not engaged via the chassis 1. <IMAGE>
