Abstract

A flameproof switchgear housing has an instrument and accessory panel 6 which is adapted to be swung in and out of the aperture 4, by being hinged at 8 to the housing 5. To facilitate wiring and component assembly, and to shield the instruments against possible harmful effects within the housing, a second such panel 7 is provided, this being hinged to the first at 10 and the two panels folding together into the aperture 4 so that, in a closed position, they define therebetween a space for accommodating instruments, relays or other accessories. The hinge 8 is double- folding and spring-loaded. <IMAGE>
