Abstract

The present invention relates to a hosepipe break detecting system partially for floating or submerged hosepipes, e.g. carrying oil. A pilot circuit 30, Figs. 2, 3, is incorporated in the reinforcement of the hosepipe 29 so that any break in the latter necessarily produces a break in circuit 30. The circuit 30, fed by a constant pressure source 16 of hydraulic fluid, is connected to a distributor 21 also connected to source 16 which causes the operation of a valve actuator 24 closing the oil supply valve 27 connected to the hosepipe as soon as a pressure drop occurs due to a break in circuit 30. <IMAGE>
