Abstract

A blade holder for a louvre window comprises an elongated member 12 having a longitudinal groove for retaining an end edge of a louvre blade, a rebate 19 of cruciform cross-section in the elongated member 12 a drive plate 14 for pivotally mounting the member 12 on a window frame, the drive plate comprising a main body 16 and a boss 17 separated by a bearing portion 18, the bearing portion being in rotational engagement within an aperture 15 in the window frame, the boss 17 having a cruciform cross-section so that it has a driving engagement with the rebate 19 in the member 12, and at least one hardened steel pin 20 mounted on the driving plate 14 to extend axially through at least the boss 17 to prevent removal of the louvre blade by sawing through the boss. The member 12 is moulded from polypropylene and the drive plate 14 is moulded from an acetal resin. <IMAGE>
