Abstract
An electric storage battery is provided with a gas-bubble source (5) disposed in an electrolyte channel (4) in the battery container (2) for moving the electrolyte in substantially vertical flow paths between the electrode plates of a plate block (1). The electrolyte channel (4) is situated at one end of the battery container (2) adjacent a side face of the plate block (1) and in a preferred construction the channel is in part defined by a partition (3) extending across the container (2) adjacent the aforementioned side face, the gas-bubble source (5) being situated at the bottom of the channel (4) and the lower edge of the partition being spaced from the bottom of the container (2) so that the channel (4) is in communication with the electrolyte in the remainder of the container. <IMAGE>
