Abstract

Belt and band fastenings. -A row of wire staples is secured to each belt end and a transverse pin of catgut, wire or the like, is passed through the interengaging looped ends of the rows of staples. The arms of each staple a are bent outwardly a short distance from the hooked ends so as to form curved loops d from which the actual hooks or points e are further turned inwards at an acute angle, so that when finally driven into the belt material the pointed ends will be clinched in position as shown in Fig. 5. The staples may be connected in suitable spaced relationship by a transverse bar j in known manner.
