Abstract
A pipe organ having unlimited possibilities of coupling any desired rank of pipes to any desired console keyboard, as compared with conventional pipe organs. This selective coupling is accomplished by multiplexed transmission of impulses from keyboards and stops, which impulses are fed in parallel into a shift register circuit converting the parallel impulses into series form, transmitting them in this form via a sender and a receiver to a stop decoder and then to a further shift register circuit converting them from series form to parallel form, to be transmitted in this form to the selected pipes. An advantage is that the transmission in series form only requires a few lines. <IMAGE>
